CancerCare provides free professional help to people with all cancers, their families and those bereaved due to cancer through individual and group counseling, education, information and referral and limited direct financial assistance.

Provides limited financial assistance nationally for pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, women with breast, ovarian, and cervical cancer. Local financial assistance includes help for people with all cancers in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and San Diego, California. Financial help is for transportation, radiation, chemotherapy, pain medications, home care, child care, and some screening and biopsies. Please be aware that CancerCare grants are not for basic living expenses such as rent, mortgages, utility payments and food. If this is the kind of assistance you need one of their social workers may be able to refer you to a local agency that can help.

A special program called CancerCare for Kids®. It’s all part of the free, professional services CancerCare provides, but focused on the particular needs of children and parents. They offer practical support, education and advice to parents, and counseling to children and teens to help them understand cancer. Families who live near a CancerCare office may also participate in our We’re Talking About It™ workshops that teach children and parents how to talk to each other about cancer.
